With such a variety of things to see — from culture-rich cities, to rural hotspots famed for fabulous food and wine — it’s not easy to decide how to focus your trip. But fear not — the following eight unique itineraries are set to ensure your 7 days in Italy are an exhilarating joy!
This Italian Cities of the Renaissance itinerary is perfect for first-time visitors to Italy. You'll explore Rome, Florence, and Venice, three bucket list beauties.
Start your journey in Rome by visiting the Vatican and Sistine Chapel early in the morning to avoid long lines and get better views of the art and architecture. Then, take a stroll through the Centro Storico, where you'll find iconic monuments like the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, and Spanish Steps.
After a leisurely lunch, head to the stunning Galleria Borghese. This 17th-century villa is famous for its Bernini sculptures and Renaissance art collection. Don't forget to explore its beautiful gardens before enjoying your evening meal.
On the second day, wake up early and spend several hours exploring Rome's ancient sites. The Coliseum and the Forum Romanum are must-see attractions that require almost a full day to fully appreciate.

On the third day, catch an early train to Florence, the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance. Spend the afternoon wandering around the city's oldest streets near the Arno River and the charming Ponte Vecchio. And don't miss the chance to try Florentine gelato.
On the fourth day, explore the historic center of Florence, making sure to visit the best museums like the Uffizi and churches, including the Duomo.
If you have an extra day, take a detour from Florence to the picturesque Tuscan countryside. We recommend visiting the magnificent medieval hilltop town of San Gimignano.
Next, it's time for the Floating City! On the sixth day, take a train to Venice and spend a leisurely afternoon getting lost in its maze-like streets and waterways, both on foot and by vaporetto water bus.
On your last day in Italy, wake up early to tour the Doge's Palace and wander around St. Mark's Square in Venice. Spend your fourth day touring the city’s historic centre, allowing time to stop off in the best museums in Florence — including the Uffizi — and churches, not least the Duomo.
